Nate has fifty years of IBM mainframe experience and has been selected as an IBM Champion for the past eight years. Currently, he is Executive Senior VP of Tcorem and President of Nate Murphy & Associates. Specializing in the conversion and testing of COBOL external stored procedures to DBA Native stored procedures. Nate Murphy has fifty years of mainframe innovative information technology experience. He has an extensive background in continuous operational mainframe mission-critical database management systems and is also one of those rare ‘fifth level’ assembler programmers. He is president of the Tridex LUW & z/OS database users groups in NY and Chairperson of the Philadelphia DB2 database users group.
Nate retired from IBM in 1990 and establishing Nate Murphy & Associates to conduct DB2 Vendor Fairs throughout the US in conjunction with IBM and local DB2 Users Groups. Prior to retirement Nate worked in several positions in the IBM DP Division, as a database, application development and data elements specialist. Prior to joining the IBM DP Division Nate spent nine years in the IBM Federal Systems Division (FSD) working on the development and implementation of the National Airspace System (NAS), which controls all the high altitude air traffic across the US. His last position on the FAA NAS project was field site training manager, responsible for training FAA and IBM field site personnel. This is the system the world saw on 911 displayed on the air traffic controller radar screens. Nate holds a B.A. degree in Accounting from Wichita State University.
